Great tour overall, just don't take his advice on where to buy spices :) Ali was great, quite knowledgeable and interesting. Places covered were properly chosen and we felt good. There was a downside - we specifically asked where could we get a larger amount of spices and he pointed out a specific stand at the Darajani market, saying that "this is the place with good prices and that we should buy there" However, we randomly found out later that there was a whole street (on the right side of the market, looking at the main gate) where everyone was selling spices by kilos and it was like 5 times cheaper to buy any spices. So we understand that he wanted to help out a friend vendor or whatever, but were kinda also hoping for an honest answer as where can one get a fair price for something.
Really great walking tour of Stone Town in Zanzibar. We were just a small group, but Ali said he never cancels like I've read that other guides do. On-top of the great information Ali provided he was also able to answer all of our questions we had about farming, as that is our background. He also gave us some really great tips about what to do with them remaining time in Zanzibar without trying to sell us be anything A++
