If you want to see the touristic highlights of Buenos Aires, then this is not the tour for you. If , on the other hand , you want to seem some hidden gems that only the locals know about, then you have chosen well. Gustavo started by telling us some of the history of BA, told us some fascinating anecdotes and showed us some local treasures. He was not only informative, and knowledgeable, but also entertaining. I definitely recommend this tour, and I hope to do another one of his before I leave the city
Highly enjoyable private tour! I was the only person and this tour is really for travelers and not tourists as you explore a neighborhood that is not on the tourist route. Yet, Gustavo provides information that allow you to understand the neighborhood within the larger context of Buenos Aires!
It was great to see a part of the city away from the standard historical sites and the hordes of tourists. Our group found the tour a great addition to the usual tourist “best of” sights to see. Gustavo was able to find something interesting to show us on nearly every street. The history of Barracas is very fascinating with the mix of original large palaces and factories. Learning that developers could not destroy any building façade if the original was built before the late 1890’s and hearing the stories of the two saints and the not-quite saint were entertaining. I also loved Pasaje Lanin with its beautiful colors and mosaic tiles. Gustavo was informative, fun, and looked after us – wc breaks, crossing streets, rest/sit down stops, etc. The story of wealth, decline and gentrification was a fascinating example of a universal occurrence and Gustavo was able to convey that information in an easily digestible manner.
Gustavo is a great guide, with many interesting stories to tell about Barracas and the whole city. We definitely recommend this tour!
