Melody did an amazing job of introducing us to many types of food in Hanoi. I can’t believe that she is a one person show. She picked the restaurants she picked a route and made us all feel at home and at ease during the food tour. She even took us on some unexpected twists and turns to show us a hidden temple And some other sites along the route. This was by far my favourite guru walk. And I have done several. Thank you Melody.

If you’re vegetarian and visiting Hanoi, this tour is an absolute must. Our guide was incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating from start to finish. He took us to so many authentic local spots that we never would have found ourselves and shared fascinating insider information about Hanoi, its food, and its culture. One of the highlights was being welcomed into a local family’s home for a meal, which made the experience feel so personal and memorable. The food was outstanding. The vegetarian pho was hands down the best dish we had during our entire trip. It was absolutely incredible. We also loved the sticky rice ice cream at the end, which was the perfect sweet finish to an amazing evening. What made this tour even more valuable was that it didn’t end when the food was over. Our guide generously shared recommendations for vegetarian restaurants, clothing shops, local stores, and other places to visit around Hanoi. Those tips ended up helping us throughout the rest of our stay. Not only was the food exceptional, but our guide was also genuinely fun to talk to. He made us feel comfortable, answered all of our questions, and made the entire experience feel like we were exploring the city with a local friend. Out of every tour we did on our trip, this was our favorite. We cannot recommend it highly enough, especially for vegetarians who are worried about finding great food in Hanoi. This tour exceeded every expectation and was one of the highlights of our visit.

Hien (Melody) is super fun, super charismatic, and took us to hidden gems we wouldn’t have found otherwise! Magnificent cuisine, genuine approach to vietnamise culture and Hien was the most fun to do it with. Honestly, I completely understand the round 5 star this tour has.

Amazing food tour that takes you to some really cool places you would never find yourself. Melody is so friendly and chatty and makes the whole tour really fun and interesting, you can tell she is passionate about showing you good local foods beyond the usual pho/bahn mi/ bun cha. This was genuinely one of the best experiences we have had in Vietnam and I couldn’t recommend this tour enough!

We had an amazing time on our Hanoi food tour with Melody! She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. She introduced us to delicious local dishes we probably would have never tried on our own, while sharing fascinating stories about Vietnamese culture, history, and daily life. Every stop felt authentic and carefully chosen. If you’re visiting Hanoi and want to experience the city through its food with a wonderful local guide, I highly recommend this tour with Melody. As a vegetarian being on my travels has been a tad challenging. Arriving in Vietnam and then seeing a vegetarian tour made me so happy! I booked on as soon as arrived at my hotel and within 10 mins I was there! The tour was so insightful! Not only did we get to try vegetarian authentic Vietnamese food we go to learn about the routes we were taking! Tommy enthusiasm was infectious! He was super informative and even after the tour shared suggested places to go / see for the rest of my trip! Thank you! Another successful GuruWalk!

Melody was amazing! She has a lovely personality and was very knowledgeable. Food was really good, we just wish we had room for more! We would have loved to visit a local bar at the end of the trip but Melody has provided some recommendations which is great. Would 100% recommend this tour as an intro to Hanoi!

We enjoyed the food tour in a small group very much. Our guide Melody brought us to small restaurants and streed food stalls, we had never found our own. So we tried special selected dishes. We not did not only learn a lot about food although about vietnamese people. Due to the small group there was enough time to talk about things we were interested. Melody is very friendly and speaks clear and fluid English. The prices a very affordable and it is possible to share dishes with your friends. We enjoyed the tour and the food very much and would highly recommend it.

Amazing welcome in Hanoi Old Qtr thru this Food Tour by Hanoitismiss. Quality foods -- from spring rolls to pho and che -- and truly a great experience walking on some alleys and sitting, Vietnamese style. Tommy is rly fun to be with, the walk filled with amusing stories & tales about northern Vietnam.

My friend and I are so happy we found this tour! Tommy was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide and fluent in English. We visited four local places and were able to try food we hadn’t heard of. He answered all of our questions and taught us a lot about Vietnamese food and culture. We highly recommend this tour if you’re in Hanoi. It was definitely the highlight of our visit! We did the street food tour with Melody and honestly it was such a great experience. What made it special was that she brought us to truly local and hidden spots that you would never find as a tourist on your own. But beyond the food itself, what really made the difference was Melody’s kindness, empathy, energy and knowledge. She was amazing at involving everyone in the group and sharing interesting information not only about the food, but also about Vietnamese culture and daily life in general. Highly recommended!
