I changed my plans to take this tour and i wasn’t disappointed or left with any regrets. The recent history of Ljubljana and the place it had in Yugoslavia was all covered. I would say this tour is essential to understanding Slovenia and its capital today.
This was an absolutely fantastic walking tour and the perfect way to get a first-hand insight into what life was like in Tito’s Yugoslavia and learn more about this period of recent history. And Primoz was, without a doubt, the best guide we could have imagined! He was full of historical facts, anecdotes, and fascinating insights into the political, social, economic, and pop culture of the former Yugoslavia. He shared it all in such an engaging and entertaining way as we enjoyed a wonderful walk around Ljubljana, visiting some of the city’s most iconic sites connected to this chapter of its history. In short, this tour is a must-do: incredibly interesting and highly recommended! Thank you so much, Primoz!
Primoz was a great tour guide. Only 4 of us on the tour. He showed and told some interesting sites/facts which gave us a great insight into Ljubjanica and the changes it has seen through the years. A different style of tour than we normally, but thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt some really interesting facts and saw some cool places that we would have missed without Primoz guidance. Thanks.
Fantastic tour with Primoz - he has incredible stories and anecdotes of Ljubljana’s history. I liked that he spent almost the whole tour speaking with us, even while we walked between stops, rather than having extended breaks. He was constantly pointing out things of interest too. Highly recommend this tour - thank you Primoz!
Great tour, really interesting too
Very interesting and authentic tour with a very well-spoken, fun and knowledgeable guide born in Titos Era! (Primoz) Diverse and untypical stops, as well as known monuments etc. Highly recommend
Great to learn from a local in Ljubljana, it was great hearing how it was as a child and being a different country. Also fun that 10 people from all over the place came to say hi to him. Truly local and know it like the palm of his hand
Primoz is a great guide, very charismatic and totally a knowledgeable on the topics! I highly recommend the tour !!
Primoz provided a fascinating view into life in Yugoslavia. Especially liked being able to see the history of Slovenia and contrasts between building styles. Answered all questions and ended up extending to 3hrs long.
Really great tour, Primoz is a great storyteller and very knowledgeable. Nice to hear personal stories from his childhood in Yu. Much better than a “classical” city tour, highly recommend it!
Primoz hat sich sehr viel Zeit genommen und viel berichtet. Er hatte auch Anschauungsmaterial dabei und war sehr engagiert. Wir haben die Tour sehr genossen, war sehr gut!
Molto interessante e piacevole. Lo consiglio!
By learning about Tito’s Yugoslavia, we got to know a lot about the differences between then and now. Primos is a very engaging tour guide and he made the visit lively with his humor and knowledge and his willingness to answer questions.
If you want a truly unique tour, you are in the right place! Primoz is a true guru, full of energy, humor and fascinating stories about Tito’s period, as well as some very special places to discover. It’s a truly immersive experience, exploring history, politics, economics, art, architecture and everyday life. You don’t just learn about the past. You really get a feel for it. Don’t hesitate, just go! Houda and Thomas
We really liked the tour, especially the cultural aspects of life during Tito's time. The visit to the supermarket and pointing out of traditional restaurants and bars. The impact of Tito on life in Ljubljana was fascinating. The tour lasted 2 hours 30 mins which was a little long for us but Primos was very knowledgeable and keen to share his personal experiences.
This is a very informative tour for anyone who is interested in Slovenia’s history at Yougoslav times. Very interesting and informative guide with first hand experience of those times. Great insight into how Slovenia transformed itself to present day modern democracy.
Very enthusiastic guide gave this unique tour of Ljubliana’s Tito era. Was 3 plus hours rather than the 2 hours advertised but was filled with passion about the city and its past in the context of the former Yugoslavia.
Primoz is a very passionate and authentic guide, who takes you back into Jugoslavia, communism and Titos role in it.
Sehr spannend und informativ. Guide war spitze!
Interesting and engaging social history of everyday life in socialist Yugoslavia. The guide clearly passionate and knowledgeable about Ljubljana, loads of interesting asides and stories thrown in. I only spent one afternoon in Ljubljana and this tour was definitely worth doing to see the city and get a sense of the place and its culture.
Primoz proved to be a great and sarcastic guide for a superb 3h deep-dive into the Tito era! Bravo!
It was a very authentic and exciting tour. Showed us interesting places and told us a lot about the communist history of Slovenia. He also had a lot of jokes to tell and brought some amazing gatgets and proofes of his childhood. Would definetly recommend!!
Had a great tour with Primoz yesterday who made sure we saw every last detail. I especially loved the part at the beginning where we learned about food and drinks and daily life of everyday people. I commend Primoz for maintaining his enthusiasm with a group who was quite quiet. I also loved that he showed us authentic mementos from that period and shared personal experiences, which made the tour feel authentic and human.
It was a great experience. We visited places and a part of Liubliana which is out of the most touristic routes and we learnt a lot about the most recent Liublianas history
