Free Walking Tours through Ljubljana Communism

Definitly the best way to discover the city, and to learn a part of history. Primoz is the best guide because he grew up in Ljubljana. He has a lot of anecdotes. Highly recommended !

Guide provided a great overview of history of Slovenia post WWII to the present. As a local he had so much knowledge of people, places and events. I highly recommend this tour.

An insightful tour into the period when Slovenia was in Yugoslavia. The guide also came with many objects that was part of that period and it was very informative to have an idea of the life then.

The tour in Ljubljana about Tito’s philosophy and history was truly fascinating. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and generous with his time he even extended the tour far beyond what was planned and shared his own personal experiences of that era. To top it off, he kindly helped me get back to my hotel at the end. Highly recommended‼️

I loved learning so much in a few hours. It was wonderful to learn about Yugoslavia and its history before Slovenia. It was an amazing tour, one of the best! Our Guru showed us artifacts and pictures; it was a master class!

I have visited many eastern countries. Primoz made me understand that former Yugoslavia was special, very different from the Warsaw pact. Probably the best version of socialism.

Primož is an excellent guide who is completely willing to answer any question you have. It is a pleasure to have a local man showing you his city and curiosities about a region and historical moment not many people know. His tour was really interesting as he showed photos of the events he talked about and the remaininga of Yugoslavia in today’s Ljubljana. He, also, made us some recommendations on where and what to eat for cheap prices, very good quality and true slovenian foods. In conclussion, we would 100% recommend his tour.

Primoz was very knowlegable about local history and spot, some of them pretty obscure and niche. He was very passionate about the history and was just as much passionate to share it with. Additionally his magic backpack always contained some sort of suprise :-)

A really interesting tour with a lot of information as well as a nice walk through the city. Ir was clear that our guide was very invested and knew a lot! It felt very down to earth and you were able to ask questions and conversate. Sometimes it was hard to follow exactly where we were in history, so it would have been nice with a more clear historic timeline! And also the tour was a little long. But overall a great tour.

Since he actually lived through part of that era, his personal insights and stories made the history feel real and alive. The tour was the perfect length and route, with a great mix of architecture, monuments, everyday objects, and photos that brought the Yugoslav period to life. Primož has a real gift for storytelling and kept everyone engaged the whole time. If you want to experience Ljubljana’s socialist heritage in an authentic and memorable way, this tour is an absolute must.

It was a wonderful visit in the streets of Ljubljana immersing ourselves in the socialist years of the town. Primoz was a great guide, very lively and eager to share his knowledge and personal experiences. He also showed us many personal objects dating from this time, adding realism to the visit. The tour is very rich and complete in terms of information covering both the story of Yougoslavia with Tito and the everydaylife of Yougoslavian at the time. This tour is exceptional! We leave the basic touristic places to discover beautiful brutalist gems and learn about the city’s secrets. The guide has multiple anecdotes and things to show us, he also gives us recommendations on local food and culture. I haven’t seen the time passing by! The tour is really really worth it to learn more about Yugoslavia, life in Ljubljana under Tito, and to discover another part of the city. Can not recommend enough!!! Thank you again for the tour :)
