Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

This is an incredibly well curated tour. It's not about feminism or any radical position. Instead, it's a history tour told through the perspectives of women of Porto. Andreia took us through different epochs of Portugues history with stories about local women who either achieved something great, contributed to the city in some way, or simply had a wild life story that needs to be shared. Believe me, this tour not just for women (or feminists). It's a great tour for everybody who wants to see the city of Porto from a different angle than the classical tourist tours. You will not be disappointed as the stories cover many genres: female independence, love, arts, business success, educational excellence as well as a a dark chapter. Sign up to experience it yourself. By the way, we covered quiet a large distance by foot, so wear comfortable shoes.

Amazing tour! Got to learn about so many incredible women and see lots of the iconic Porto sports along the way, plus some other neighbourhoods and monuments I wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Andreia is a great storyteller and wonderful guide.

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

The tour was well researched and the stories got better and better with each stop, Stay until the end. These women who lived in Porto, who lived courageously, are not discussed in the regular historical or monument tours! It is a small niche tour so you can ask lots of questions and discuss in more detail. We walked up and down hills, 5 km in total (9.2k steps); one hill is quite steep but you can take breaks and it is worth it. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to know more about females contributions in art, education, activism, and much more. Romana is so friendly and approachable, I real enjoyed all the stories of these remarkable women that she shared and will take these stories home with me. Thank you!

Great tour, although more niche but I found this more interesting. The guide is lovely and can give recommendations as well as info. A reasonable amount of walking so be ready for this, altho a lot is downhill.

Absolut empfehlenswert.

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

This is a comprehensive walking tour focusing on the impact of women on the history and culture of Porto. Romana told us fascinating stories while guiding us on a nearly 3 hour leisurely stroll up a d down the hills of the city.

The tour with Andreia was super interesting. We got to learn about badass women who made history in Porto like Lady Ferreira (yes the lady from the port wine- and also the one where two husbands "magically" died). She also was super friendly and gave us helpful advice for our stay in the city. It was an experience that we wouldn't have wanted to miss. Thank you!!

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

This is such a special tour and well designed to tell the stories of women who have made important marks in the history. Romana has done impeccable research and integrate these stories with beautiful sites of gardens, places and river front.

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

The walk was very interesting, even tbough I’m Portuguese I’ve discovered a lot of new things about the woman that shaped our history, totally recomend, just wear confortable shoes 😊

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

Was a great experience. Very interesting to learn about the woman behind Porto’s history. We also got great food recommendations from our lovely guide.

Donne che hanno plasmato Porto

What a great tour! Andreia was friendly, gave great recommendations and showed us a whole different side of Porto! The stories about the women of Porto were super interesting and varied- from higher class women to academics and artists, to feminists and revolutionaries to sex workers, I feel like I learned a lot. Would highly recommend, especially for anyone who wants an out of the ordinary tour experience :)

Andreia is an experienced tour guide with a great understanding of both her city and the information she provides. The tour is mysterious and original, and the content will leave you wanting more. What I most liked was the local spots we stopped at which varied between amazing sea views, gardens, and art scenes (I won’t say more to avoid spoilers), as well as the cool stories and facts that I learned about. I also liked that I was able to ask all the questions I had as Andreia was very open and affable. I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience something different and memorable, as the women you will learn about truly shaped the city of Porto as we know it today and left a valuable legacy behind them.

Among all the tours in porto this was one of the only few ones that tells a different story. All Porto’s landmarks are beautiful but I wanted to go beyond and learn more about the city’s brave women, the ones that laid the foundation for today’s ladies to be this cool! :) Andreia was amazing, you can tell she is really passionate about the tour and the info she shares with you. It was an unlucky day and I was the only one attending the tour. She took the train and came anyways, just to share with me the life of Porto’s heroines. Thank you Andreia, hope to be back and have a second part of the tour! :)

Oh my goodness! This was an amazing tour. I loved learning about the women who lived/worked/survived in Porto. The history and cultural relevance of "forgotten" women in history always astounds me, and this tour shone a light on their stories. Great tour! 10/10

The tour took us through the hidden history of Porto's women. Interessting and revealing! Bonus: She is vegan and she recommended us really good place to eat. Great conversationalist!
