Amazing way to discover the interesting history of Swakopmund. Lorenzo told the story in an engaging way and we had a great time with him. We saw many places we would have walked by otherwise. Highly recommended to get a deeper insight into this great country.

A brilliant tour from start to finish. Lorenzo had a great way of communicating the history of the town in a way that kept us entertained and engaged with what he was saying. We finished the tour with a much better understanding of the town and Namibia in general. He even pointed us in the direction of a good coffee at the end.

We had the privilege to get a private tour with Lorenzo. He walked us through the city and taught us so many interesting facts about the history of Swakopsmund and Namibia. It was a lovely tour, which let the time flew by. Absolutely recommend booking this tour! Lorenzo is a super fun and knowledgeable guide! He answered all our questions no matter the context (history, community, daily life, …). Lorenzo, we’re looking forward to booking the brewery tour with you next time we’re in Swakopsmund.

We had a wonderful free walking tour in Swakopmund! Lorenzo was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and took his time, he showed us the whole innercity and made it possible to get inside the lutheranian church and the old Tower with an amazing view over the town, the beach and the dunes. He shared lots of interesting stories and information about Swakopmund’s history and even was able to touch the sensetive parts of history in a very kinde and humble way. Lorenzo seemd to enjoyed presenting us the town he grew up in and made us feel welcome here. The tour ends at the Jetty. A great experience and definitely highly recommended!

We had a great time with Lorenzo! He is very knowledgeable about Swakopmund and shared lots of interesting facts about the city's history. He was friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic throughout the tour. When we mentioned that we wanted to do a dune tour the next day, he recommended a great local contact. It was an excellent tip! Highly recommended!

Our guide, Irmelo, took us on a tour of Swakopmund’s colonial past. He impresses with his extensive historical knowledge and has a well-informed answer to every question we ask. It was also lovely that he brought along a folder containing a wealth of images and information to illustrate his points. We’re delighted to have learnt so much about Swakopmund’s history – a history which, for us, is also tinged with shame – and to have experienced the pleasant, very empathetic manner and approach with which Irmelo deals with it. A truly wonderful afternoon – thank you very much!

I am really glad I book this walk. It gave me a much better perspective of Swakopmund, its history, its culture, and the wider context around colonial heritage and the development of the town. Irmelo was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable, very flexible, and clearly passionate about what he does. What stood out for me was how well he explained things, how patiently he responded to questions, and how naturally he connected the dots between history, culture, architecture, and the current context of Swakopmund. The tour was well-paced, carefully curated, and showed real attention to detail. It did not feel rushed or generic; it felt intentional and thoughtful. I left with a deeper appreciation and a stronger understanding of the space, which made the rest of my experience in Swakopmund much more meaningful. I would highly recommend starting with this tour for anyone who wants to properly understand Swakopmund before exploring further.

Lorenzo was a great guide, friendly, passionate and super knowledgeable about Swakopmund's history. He gave us an in-depth tour of local landmarks along with his insights as a lifelong resident of the town, from the stories behind historic buildings to a climb up the local watch-tower, Damara tower. A morning well spent before heading off to Sossusvlei!

Lorenzo was a very good guide, smooth description of monuments and history (not a speech know by heart), and made special arrangements to visit the church and go up the tower that were very appreciated! Thank you
