We had a great time with Lorenzo! He is very knowledgeable about Swakopmund and shared lots of interesting facts about the city's history. He was friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic throughout the tour. When we mentioned that we wanted to do a dune tour the next day, he recommended a great local contact. It was an excellent tip! Highly recommended!

Our guide, Irmelo, took us on a tour of Swakopmund’s colonial past. He impresses with his extensive historical knowledge and has a well-informed answer to every question we ask. It was also lovely that he brought along a folder containing a wealth of images and information to illustrate his points. We’re delighted to have learnt so much about Swakopmund’s history – a history which, for us, is also tinged with shame – and to have experienced the pleasant, very empathetic manner and approach with which Irmelo deals with it. A truly wonderful afternoon – thank you very much!

I am really glad I book this walk. It gave me a much better perspective of Swakopmund, its history, its culture, and the wider context around colonial heritage and the development of the town. Irmelo was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable, very flexible, and clearly passionate about what he does. What stood out for me was how well he explained things, how patiently he responded to questions, and how naturally he connected the dots between history, culture, architecture, and the current context of Swakopmund. The tour was well-paced, carefully curated, and showed real attention to detail. It did not feel rushed or generic; it felt intentional and thoughtful. I left with a deeper appreciation and a stronger understanding of the space, which made the rest of my experience in Swakopmund much more meaningful. I would highly recommend starting with this tour for anyone who wants to properly understand Swakopmund before exploring further.

He gave us an in-depth tour of local landmarks along with his insights as a lifelong resident of the town, from the stories behind historic buildings to a climb up the local watch-tower, Damara tower. A morning well spent before heading off to Sossusvlei!

We had an excellent GuruWalk in Swakopmund with Lorenzo on Sunday morning. Walking through the city while discovering the different places, architecture, and fascinating history behind how Swakopmund was built made the experience truly special. Lorenzo knows an incredible amount about the city and shares everything in a very engaging and enjoyable way. It was the perfect Sunday morning stroll — relaxed, informative, and full of interesting stories and historical details.
