I have been on 20+ tours around Europe, and Alex's tour will stick with me, not just because of the greatly informative tour, but his honestly, style and friendly attitude. I really think this tour was far more than just a tour, and Alex is far more than a guide he honestly cares about what he does, and you can feel the passion for the subject - the reason I say "subject" is because actually Alex made me feel far more involved in other things he spoke about rather than just the tour we were on, and if I can I absolutely want to follow him to other areas he is passionate about. Please if you visit Kyiv, make sure you book in with him, and set aside as much time as you can because he is a fountain of knowledge and is happy to share.

Five stars, no cap. I came to Kyiv without knowing much about the city, and this time with Eugene turned into the part of the trip I keep writing people about back home. We walked Khreshchatyk and Maidan in full autumn. Beautiful season. I especially liked the stories about what Khreshchatyk looked like before the war, the bits about Stalinist Empire style, and the rich cultural heritage of Kyiv. It shifts your perspective on history and on beautiful Ukrainians entirely. What stayed with me most is how personal it felt. The guide was generous with questions, he knows the city the way you only know a place you love, and his English is excellent (Italian too, which I did not expect, btw). I left feeling I had understood a little of Kyiv instead of only photographing it. If you are visiting, book this walk. Gracias, Eugene! 🙏

Alex is a fantastic guide who is truly passionate about history and his job. His knowledge is vast, and he is eager to share both Kyiv and Ukraine with the world. He is incredibly attentive and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. I learned and heard things about Ukraine that I previously had no clue about. He even provided extra information and great book recommendations. I would love to visit Ukraine again soon, and when I do, I will definitely get in touch with Alex.

Eugene is a fantastic guide who clearly cares about making the experience comfortable. He was clear, proactive, and very accommodating. On the tour itself, I kept asking off-topic questions, but he’d seamlessly weave them into the story xD Great historic tour with realistic advice on getting around Kyiv!!!!

I booked the tour with Eugene and it turned out to be a great introduction to Kyiv. Communication before meeting was really easy and responsive. The walk itself was well-paced with some coffee stops available ;) Eugene knows his stuff, answered all my questions, and made it feel more like a walk with a local than a strict tour. Definitely recommend!

Proper English speaking guide. Very informative and friendly.

In Brief: Excellent private walking tour with a knowledgeable and personable guide. Relaxed, flexible, and genuinely insightful. Highly recommended. Detailed: I had Eugene as my guide and from the start he was excellent. He arrived exactly on time and was friendly and easy to talk to straight away. It ended up being just me on the tour, but he didn’t let that affect anything and still delivered a full, engaging experience. I actually had to cancel a booking with him the day before as I wasn’t feeling well, and he couldn’t have handled it better. He was very understanding and even messaged me personally to check in and see if I wanted to rebook, which was a really nice touch and not something you always get. The tour itself was really informative. We walked through some key streets in Kyiv and Eugene’s knowledge was clear throughout. He answered every question I threw at him without hesitation, and I appreciated that he was more than happy to go off topic to cover things I was curious about. It felt more like a conversation than a scripted tour, which made it far more enjoyable. In terms of coverage, the tour focuses on a relatively small area, so it is not one of those where you come away fully oriented with the whole city. That said, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in depth. The areas we did cover were packed with history, and it gave me a much better understanding of Ukraine’s past and how it has shaped the country today. Eugene also made it clear that I could stay in touch with him after the tour if I needed any recommendations or advice. He was genuinely happy for me to reach out if I got stuck or needed help with anything. In a country where the culture and language are quite different from my own, that was a really reassuring gesture and something I thought was genuinely kind. One practical thing to be aware of is payment. Make sure you either have cash in Ukrainian hryvnia or a bank setup that allows easy international transfers, as UK banks in particular can make this more awkward than expected. And finally, if Eugene suggests heading to a bar at the end, trust him. The staff were friendly and the food was simple but genuinely delicious. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you want something more personal, flexible, and genuinely insightful rather than just ticking off landmarks.

We had a fantastic time on the tour of Kreshatyk Street with Eugene - it was a walk through history and architecture, and we learnt a lot. Eugene made the tour very engaging and was super flexible to our personal needs and interests. I would wholeheartedly recommend Eugene as a tour guide to anyone, and I am looking forward to booking more tours with him in the future!

Joined the tour on New Year's Eve and Eugene made time to accomodate me. He came very prepared with lots of materials and I found the old photos and information very interesting. I walked the same street again the next day and it was nice to be able to imagine what Eugene the previous day. This tour is totally recommended for everyone who wants to know Kyiv more than surface value.

Eugene was a great guide*. He takes attendees along a well-suited route to show important aspects of the city‘s past, including, of course, the troublesome soviet era and how Kyiv is freeing itself from the colonial heritage without destroying it all. The tour is thus a perfect starting point if you‘ve just arrived in Kyiv. After the walk we chatted about the grim reality Kyivians are facing today because of the same unfriendly neighbour to the east. These were three very enjoyable and informative hours and I now feel better prepared to further explore the city. * not a guru, seriously, who came up with that ridiculous brand name? I‘m sure none of your customers intended to book a cult leader
