Joined the tour on New Year's Eve and Eugene made time to accomodate me. He came very prepared with lots of materials and I found the old photos and information very interesting. I walked the same street again the next day and it was nice to be able to imagine what Eugene the previous day. This tour is totally recommended for everyone who wants to know Kyiv more than surface value.
Eugene was a great guide*. He takes attendees along a well-suited route to show important aspects of the city‘s past, including, of course, the troublesome soviet era and how Kyiv is freeing itself from the colonial heritage without destroying it all. The tour is thus a perfect starting point if you‘ve just arrived in Kyiv. After the walk we chatted about the grim reality Kyivians are facing today because of the same unfriendly neighbour to the east. These were three very enjoyable and informative hours and I now feel better prepared to further explore the city. * not a guru, seriously, who came up with that ridiculous brand name? I‘m sure none of your customers intended to book a cult leader
