Free tour of Regensburg's historic old town
Descrizione del tour
Follow me through the alleys of Regensburg's old town and listen to the stories and legends of its nearly 2000-year history. The tour takes us from the beginnings of the Roman legion camp through the rise to a medieval trading metropolis, its temporary decline, and up to its current flourishing state.
Learn why the "Perpetual Diet" eventually ended, what the devil has to do with the Stone Bridge, and why Regensburg is considered Germany's "single capital."
We start at the House of Bavarian History and stroll from there to Bismarckplatz in the west of the old town. On our way through the countless alleys, we pass some masterpieces of ancient and medieval architecture:
- the Stone Bridge
- the Old Town Hall
- St. Peter's Cathedral
- the walls of the Roman legion camp
- the Ducal Court
- ...
Experience all the facets of my chosen home, where every day feels a bit like a vacation, and understand why I don't want to move away anytime soon.
