The guide had an assistant named David who contacted me via whatsapp to arrange our meeting. He also asked for a picture of me and complained in a rude way when I sent him one where he could not see me well ( which for privacy I was not obliged to send !) After arranging the meeting we went there on time ( actually, in advance) and noone showed up. Very rude, very disappointing, I would never recommend him.

We reserved a tour with Karim and first problem is that we received a message on whatsapp by someone we don’t even know basically showing that they have an agency working behind the free tours with many guides. No problem, this is unfair, but we decided to do the “free tour” anyway with this guy called Midi who shows up at our hostel and takes us around for a fair tour, very nice and well explained. We stay around 3 hours in total, but when we give our free tip at the end of the tour he says it’s not enough and that he agreed with his boss at least 20€ per person and maybe a tip over it. We answer that the free tour is a free tour exactly cause the price is supposed to be open to the customers (and believe me we have done many free tours on Guru Walk). The guy calls his friend saying that he didn’t even know that it was a free tour and that he would never do a free tour just for two people cause he’s used to receive way more money. We end up with giving Midi 10€ more otherwise he wouldn’t leave, and up to this point we still don’t know to whom we’re leaving the review. Overall, pretty blurred service, definitely not a free tour.

There were two of us on the tour. The communication prior to the tour was great, however we got a German tour instead of English that we booked. Which is fine we both speak German but there was no prior warning. Compared to other tours that we did, half of this one was stopping at places selling stuff with an expectation for us to buy. I understand that in a tourist country you’re invited to purchase souvenirs which is okay - but in one place, not 3 where the guide didn’t bother telling us stuff rather than hand us over to people working there. At the end of a 90 min tour we were charged 25 euros for 2 people - an amount which I don’t mind paying for a good tour which this one wasn’t. All in all, I can’t recommend it as sad as it is.
