Learn about the origins of cava with this guided tour and enjoy a tasty lunch! The history of Codorníu family of winemakers dates back to the 16th century and it is the oldest family business in Spain. You’ll be welcomed in the Sala Puig, known as "the Cathedral of Cava", where you’ll learn about the modernist architecture of the building which was expanded by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch in 1895.

You’ll then descend into the underground caves where you’ll learn about the cava production process and hear the history of the company since 1551. You’ll admire some traditional machinery and old printing machines and enjoy a train tour through the cellars. After the visit, you’ll be able to taste two premium cavas and enjoy a delicious menu lunch.

What to remember:

• If you book your visit at 3:15, 3:30 or 3:45 p.m., lunch will be served before the visit (1:00 p.m.). For the rest of the hours, the restaurant service is available from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Please note that people under 18 years old are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages
• The lunch menu includes starters to share including Iberian ham, Perol meat croquettes, scrambled eggs with Prades potato, truffle and foie, meat cannelloni with porcini cream and Parmesan and coca bread with tomato; a second course to choose between barbecue meat, low-temperature beef with roast sauce and sautéed mushrooms or grilled cod snout with orio sauce; a dessert including coffee, mini cheesecake, catania and carquiñoli.
