I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and Chang was an amazing guide - I loved learning about the different street and market food specialities of Chengdu and Sichuan and having the opportunity to try some as well (so tasty!) - this tour is the perfect combo of exciting market and street food culture followed by the history and peaceful vibe of walking through the Taoist temple. Highly recommend 💯

We had a wonderful tour with Li and would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Chengdu. The food we got to try throughout the tour was delicious, and it was a great way to experience local cuisine. The historical information and cultural insights were also very interesting and added a lot to the experience. Even though I wasn't able to book in time, Li was incredibly kind and accommodating to me and my friend. She essentially adjusted the tour so that we could still join and enjoy the experience, which we really appreciated. Her insights into the city and local culture were excellent, her English is absolutely perfect, and she brought such great energy to the entire tour. She was friendly, engaging, and made the experience both informative and fun. We had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend her tour to others.

Haoqi was extremely knowledgeable about the local foods. She pointed a million different things that were new to me. As I am new to China she helped me also understand the Chinese apps and how to use them. She also gave me some interesting tips to do with my evening entertainment and helped me book a ticket for Chinese theatre which I thoroughly enjoyed. I really enjoyed my evening walking tour of Chengdu with Li. She is personable, was full of interesting information and I saw a side of Chengdu I wouldn't have seen on my own. The walk along the river and into the park with the many varieties of bamboo was relaxing. I would recommend Li's tour if you find yourself in the beautiful city of Chengdu.

Yuan is friendly and very knowledgeable about Chengdu. She knows a lot about history and has a great passion for it. She also suggested good places for us to eat. As others have mentioned, she speaks really good English. Highly recommend her for a tour.

The contact with Haoqi was very agreeable, open, relax. Discovering the food market was realy delightful. I would recommend a small group (we were 3 + Haoqi). We talked not only about food, but about many other things in daily life of Chinese.

I had such a lovely time with Haoqi visiting the foodie market. We sampled a few bits while she explained more about Chengdu cuisine and she helped us pick out some bits for breakfast that we enjoyed together. The tea and calligraphy session was fantastic - the lady was super friendly and it was so calming and relaxing. A lovely morning spent with locals!

Fiona was an outstanding guide and made our time in Chengdu truly memorable. She took us on a fascinating tour through People’s Park, providing insightful explanations and cultural context that brought the area to life. One of the highlights was visiting an underground bunker that featured museum-style displays with photographs, written accounts, and historical timelines. Fiona helped connect the exhibits to the broader history and significance of the site, making the experience much more meaningful and engaging. She also introduced us to a traditional tea house ceremony, which was incredibly interesting. We learned about different types of Chinese teas, their unique characteristics, and the traditions surrounding tea culture. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for an important part of Chinese heritage. What truly set Fiona apart was her warm personality and interactive approach. She was knowledgeable, approachable, and created a fun, relaxed atmosphere throughout the tour. Conversation flowed naturally, and she made everyone feel comfortable and involved. As a thoughtful finishing touch, she gifted us a beautiful poem written on rice paper by a renowned ancient Chinese poet. It was a lovely keepsake and a meaningful reminder of our experience. A little less sampling then we expected but learned lots of interesting things and also just enjoyed chatting with our guide over a game of cards that she thought us! The tea + calligraphy was super fun.

I spent an enjoyable morning with my guide Chang! We've visited the market and had a tea ceremony together, I had a chance to pratice Chinese calligraphy. Chang was very friendly and answered my many questions 😊 I definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in Chinese culture!
