Free walking tours in Chengdu

This was such a nice and chill tour!! Loved walking around the market trying new things and chatting with Haoki. She gave me lots of recommendations and was super helpful answering all of my questions. The Palace we saw afterwars was really interesting as well!

Would definitely recommend this tour. We got to try lots of exciting new food from a traditional market. Melanie also taught us about chinese food from Chendung and Taoism when we visited the temple. Very kind and informative guide.

What a great way to start our Chengdu visit! We met with Kimi, who offers a small group experience, in fact, it was just the three of us as she doesn’t accept more than 5 people. This made the tour very personalised and allowed us to make a lots of questions. Kimi speaks English very well and is open to whatever questions. She is very bubbly and chatty and adapted to our need - the tour was lasting longer as she allowed us to enjoy a tea experience. In addition she gave us lots of super useful recommendations to enjoy the city. This was one of the best highlights of our trip. If you are in Chengdu make sure to not miss this tour 🙂

Nice tour combining local market exploration with cultural discussions about food and daily life. Haoqi then took us to Qingyang Palace where she explained very well Taoist practices. Good mix of authentic local experience and cultural learning. Recommended.

We had a great tour with Fiona. She was knowledgeable, friendly and we learnt a lot along the way. It was a great way to orientate ourselves on our first day in Chengdu

I absolutely loved this food tour! I discovered so many delicious Chinese dishes I had never tried before. It was extremely fun exploring the different foods and chatting with our guide, Haoqi. She was fantastic at explaining everything and so passionate about the culture and cuisine. Her enthusiasm made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

This history tour was fantastic! Fiona, our guide, explained everything so clearly and with great enthusiasm. She even prepared a role-play activity during the tour, which made it extra engaging and fun. Fiona was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions thoroughly. We also got to explore hidden alleys and lesser-known parts of the city that most tourists never see. I highly recommend this tour, though be ready for plenty of walking.

I’ve been on many of such walking tours and I have to say that this is one of my favourites by far! Haoqi was very personable and sincere. We could feel that she really cares, and the tour did not feel rushed or commercialized at all. Absolutely would recommend anyone to take this tour, especially if you love exploring truly local places and culture in Chengdu.

Amazing tour! Fiona gave us a lot of historical pearls about the city and she was so kind to give many suggestions about restaurants and local markets. Super reccommended!

Wonderful tour with Katherine. She was knowledgable about the local cuisine and very easy to get along with. She showed us local hidden gems and an area of Chengdu we wouldn’t have visited otherwise. Highly recommend!

This was a great tour - we really enjoyed browsing the market with a local and choosing items to sample!

Kimi was the person we met during our 20 days in China who spoke the best English, and it was our best tour in China. She is incredibly patient and explained everything we asked about the country, especially the city: its history, customs, food, insights, how to avoid tourist traps, and the essence of Chengdu. Our two-hour tour lasted five hours thanks to Kimi's energy. Kimi also showed us and explained the food and eating habits. We even tried several dishes, so we could consider our tour a food tour as well. We couldn't have had better company on our Chengdu tour; Kimi is simply infectious and showed us the soul of Chengdu If you are in Chengdu, do the guru walk with Kimi, I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our tour in Chengdu. We visited a great market, tried different spices and delicacies and got ingredients to make delicious Chinese spring rolls which we loved! Haoqi told us lots about Chinese and Sichuan cooking and then we explored a Taoist temple which was really interesting.

The tour was great. Eileen speaks perfect English and it was fascinating talking to her about her life and experiences in China and abroad. So much to see in the local market and the spring rolls were delicious. After that we visited local sites that were interesting and well explained. Eileen provided some great tips on other things to see and do in Chengdu and will gladly take great photos. Highly recommend her tour.

Really nice walk, lots of national and local history. It was so nice to just have a conversation with a same aged local who is very knowledgable and has excellent english skills! This is exactly why we sign up for these kind of tours. We really enjoyed it even though it was a rainy day!
