My wife and I travel the world full-time. We love the GuruWalk tours and take them in every city across the globe that offers the tours. Today we took the "Free Quito Walking Tour, candies/chocolate/ ice cream tasting & Spanish Lesson" with Tefa. From the start, Tefa was personable and engaging. It was clear that Tefa is proud of Ecuador and her city of Quito and she wanted to share the history of both with us. We were so impressed with her command of Ecuadorian history specifically, but equally impressed with her knowledge of surrounding South American countries and how Ecuador and South America's history overlaps with world history. Tefa's command and usage of English was equally impressive. Tefa is a consummate professional and without doubt one of the finest GuruWalk tour professionals we have ever met in the world!

Oscar was an amazone guide. I had problems with getting to the start point due to traffic, but that was no problem, sinve he waited patiently. We also went over time, which obly was a plus. Interesting story tælling overall!

This was possibly the best walking tour I've ever been on. It lasted over 4 hours and honestly felt more like a professional tour than the usual generic walking tours you get in major cities in Europe. The chocolate tasting was worth the tour alone, let alone other tastings, the history told and questions answered. 100% recommend.

Seeing as how I love candies, chocolate, and ice cream - this tour seemed a good fit for me. And yes, we stopped at some shops and restaurants for tastings = very yummy. But the tour was more than eating. I learned a lot about the history of Quito, some historic buildings, and meanings behind gargoyles and crosses placed outside churches. Tefa also took us to a small grocery store that sold produce and said the shop owners don't rip off tourists here. Same price for all. We stopped to talk to an elderly lady on the sidewalk selling taxo fruit for about 15¢ each and I bought a few to eat later in my hotel. I also made a few purchases of candies and returned to the ice cream shop later to buy a cone. I highly recommend taking this tour.
