Free tour Third Reich and Jewish Quarter
Tour description
Our tour begins in Hackesche Höfe, in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of Berlin. While we see its most charming courtyards, our guide in Spanish will reveal its historical significance and cultural relevance. On Tolerance Street we will see the signs of the impact of the Nazi regime and World War II, and in Stolpersteine ("the stumbling blocks" in German) we will honor the memory of those killed during the Holocaust. We will also see the Great Synagogue in Berlin, rebuilt after the fire of the tragic Night of the Broken Crystals; and the Protestant church of Sophienkirche, a true war survivor. The Jewish Cemetery or the school will help us understand the history of the Jews in Berlin and their relationship with the German people. Between the Brandenburg Gate, the symbolic heart of the city, and the Reichstag, German parliament, we will know the harsh political and material conditions of post-war Germany. Something Hitler took without a doubt to take power. We will also see the surroundings of the Tiergarten, where the memorials to the victims of the Nazis are concentrated. Among them stands out the Great Memorial of the Soviets, in honor of the heroes of the battle of Berlin in April 1945. This activity ends in Hitler's last Bunker, where he hid his last days with Goebbels.
