Unforgettable Santiago: History, anecdotes and mysteries.
Tour description
This Free Tour shows us a beautiful city full of contrasts and myths. Founded in 1541 on an ancient Inca settlement, Santiago is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and we will talk about the colonial history of this country and its formation as an independent nation in the 19th century.
But it is not only history, we will talk about the mysteries that surround this metropolis, especially haunted buildings, urban myths and the lineage of one of the most prolific serial killers of the colonial era, whose spirit still roams these streets.
We will end our tour at the Palacio de la Moneda, where we will learn about the recent history of Chile and about the 1973 coup d'état.
Some highlights of the tour will be the following:
*Plaza de Armas and Town Hall building.
*Cathedral and tomb of national heroes, among them the Carrera Verdugo Family.
*Red House (Independence Process)
* Church of the Augustinians, seat of one of the mysteries of Santiago.
*Estado, Huérfanos and Bandera streets.
*National Congress and old Jesuit Church and its great fire of 1860.
*Palace of the Courts of Justice.
*Palace of the Currency and Coup d'état of 1973.
Finally, you will always be able to count on our best data to have lunch or get to know other places in the city designed for our visitors.
