Free Tour Baeza: "Land of the Renaissance" (+ EVOO Tasting)

I'm Josué and I welcome you to this charming city in the region of La Loma, located in the heart of the province of Jaén.

In this fantastic tour, you will have the opportunity to discover how Baeza, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003, became one of the greatest references of the Spanish Renaissance of the 16th century thanks to the patronage of some of the most important noble families who settled in this city and contributed to beautifying every corner with magnificent constructions such as the Palace of Jabalquinto, public infrastructures with clear Castilian reminiscences like the Plaza del Pópulo or the Paseo de la Constitución that show us the great economic boom the city reached at this time, with important artisans like the architect Andrés de Vandelvira, responsible for the Renaissance restoration of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Nativity, nestled in the heart of the historic center.

This tour will consist of the following stops:

- Tower of the Aliatares.
 
- Paseo de la Constitución (Constitution Fountain, Alhóndiga, Lower Town Halls, and Triumph Fountain).

- Old University of Baeza (University and Barbudo Arch).

- Plaza de la Santa Cruz (Church of Sta. Cruz and Palace of Jabalquinto).

- Plaza de Sta. María (Cathedral, Upper Town Halls, Sta. María Fountain, and Seminary of San Felipe Neri).

- Cathedral Alleys (Gate of Forgiveness).

- Plaza del Pópulo (Fountain of the Lions, Old Butcheries, Civil Audience and Scribes, Villalar Arch, and Jaén Gate).

And to top off the experience, at the end of our tour, we will have the chance to delight in tasting an exquisite Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) at the establishment "Tierra de Renacimiento" where, in addition to enjoying its great flavor, we can learn about its production process as well as the benefits of its regular consumption.
