Tour description
We'll begin the guided tour in the Plaza Mayor , the nerve center of the historic center. We'll walk through the narrow streets of the enclave to unravel its popular architecture, the physiognomy of its urban planning, and the unique color palette. We'll delve into its twists and turns to discover that not everything is as it seems. What's a blue house doing in a city like this? Did you know it's Ciudad, the city of Albarracín?
As intrepid travelers, we will continue our journey, impressed by the challenges to the laws of physics described by some of the houses in our beloved city. There, the Church of Santiago , with its prominent bell tower; there, the Molina Gate and its secret, the Julianeta House . Rooftops that close in and winding streets lead us to the Abanico corner , where we can then relax with the views beyond the city walls by crossing the Agua Gate . Cathedral ? In Albarracín? That's right, and next to it, the Episcopal Palace . How strange, why do so many doors have lizards?
The viewpoint will reveal the mighty walls of Albarracín. At the very top, the solitary bastion of the Andador continues, unfazed by time, bearing witness to the city's evolution practically since its founding. Our steps lead us to the Monterde-Antillón house ; the beautiful coat of arms gives us clues to the family's importance. Our journey ends, dear traveler, but there are always things left to experience...
There's a very special house in Albarracín, a time machine that allows us to travel back to a time of lords and servants, of opulence and humility, and, above all, offers us the opportunity to experience how the generations that preceded us lived. But that's another story.
