Savor the Culture: Interactive Cooking Adventure in Tanzania😋!

I’m Kevin Angelo I’m Tanzanian through and through, with a misplaced affinity for cheesy romance movies (who doesn’t love Titanic!) and Country and Western music (something my friends are forever teasing me about). The first thing you’ll notice about me is that I love meeting new people and making them smile. The second is that I have a deep passion for and knowledge of my home country. You’ll have me on hand to help and advise you before, throughout, and even after your tour. After booking your place on my tour, you’ll receive some personal pre-travel advice on Tanzanian etiquette, and a little on the language – starting with; ‘how on earth do you pronounce Ngorongoro?’ A few things you should know about the people of Tanzania: we love to smile, laugh, sing, dance, and have fun (any excuse!) We wear our hearts on our sleeves and form friendships quickly and naturally. In fact, in my native language, Kiswahili, the word ‘mgeni’ meaning ‘foreigner’, is the same as the word for ‘guest’. Here you are not a tourist but a new companion, and that is the feeling I want you to experience as your personal host. Karibu nyumbani! Tanzania welcomes you home!

Tour description

Welcome to Tanzania, Karibu! If you're the kind of traveler who craves an authentic experience, wants to dive into the heart of Dar es Salaam, connect with the local people, and savor the culinary delights of our culture, then look no further.

Forget about standard food tours – I offer you an opportunity to not only taste, but also cook the same meals that locals enjoy on a daily basis. Food is an integral part of our life here in Tanzania, and through this experience, we'll embark on a journey of cooking, eating, and meaningful conversations.

As we prepare and enjoy our meals together, we'll have the chance to discuss an array of topics – from culture and beliefs to everyday life and aspirations. Expect to be embraced by laughter, entertained by music, and even learn some introductory Swahili words and phrases.

This immersive experience goes beyond filling your belly; it leaves you with a deep understanding of Tanzanian customs, and equips you with cooking skills to prepare authentic Tanzanian chakula. So come, be my guest, and let's create lasting memories filled with flavors, laughter, and cultural insights.

Kevin is an incredible person and guide, he showed me around his village and answered any questions I had, if you want to experience authentic Tanzanian life outside of the modern city of Dar Es Salaam, I highly recommend taking a trip to his village.
