Welcome to the Pearl of Sepharad!
Lucena was known as the quintessential Jewish city during the time of al-Andalus, find out why!
During our visit, we will visit such emblematic places as the Church of San Mateo , an old synagogue and later a mosque, which is currently considered the Subbética Cathedral and a jewel of Andalusian Baroque.
We will also visit the Plaza Nueva , the central area of the city where the Lucena Town Hall is also located and where the old Jewish quarter was located.
Near these monuments we can see the Castillo del Moral , a spectacular fortress considering that Boabdil himself was enclosed within its walls.
Continuing along the route, we will see the Palace of the Counts of Santa Ana , a beautiful 18th-century building that houses the Lucena Interpretation Center and inside which most civil weddings are held.
Book and enjoy this city in the heart of Andalusia!
