Free Tour two hours in Trastevere: between history and legend
I'm Beatrice, a graduate in Renaissance art history at the La Sapienza University of Rome and a licensed Tour Leader. During my university years I worked as an intern at the Quirinal Palace, organizing guided tours. After graduation I held the role of intern at the Royal Palace and Castel Sant'Elmo, in Naples, and worked in contemporary art galleries. Passionate about art, history, cinema and literature, I hope to convey the same love that I have for my city, Rome!
Tour description
Welcome to Trastevere , a district that has its roots in the time of the birth of Rome , in 753 BC. I will tell you the stories of emperors, saints, ghosts and famous artists who have traveled these streets, from ancient Rome to the present day.
We will start from Piazza Trilussa, dedicated to the most famous Roman singer. Getting lost in alleys and squares with curious names, we will see buildings, churches and madonelle built in past centuries, as well as the houses where Alberto Sordi and Lucio Dalla lived. I will tell you stories of famous ghosts, to finally approach Piazza in Piscinula, a magical place linked to the memory of San Benedetto and the poetess Tullia D'Aragona.
If you are looking for a tour that combines history, traditions and anecdotes, you are in the right place. My goal is to introduce you to Trastevere in all its aspects, giving ample space to never trivial legends and curiosities, all seasoned with my passion for art and dissemination.
