Tour description

Our Political Tour offers a fresh and balanced look at Belfast’s turbulent history. We are a new generation of guides – some from Belfast, others from beyond – united by a shared commitment to tell the story of this city without bias. Our aim is to give visitors a deeper understanding of “The Troubles,” the communities involved, and the ongoing journey toward peace.

The experience begins at Belfast City Hall, where we set the historical scene: the centuries of British rule, the 1916 Easter Rising, the partition of Ireland, and the rise of tensions between Catholic nationalists and Protestant unionists. With this context, we explore the city’s divided neighborhoods and their powerful murals.

On Falls Road, the heart of the republican community, we visit the International Wall, the Divis Tower, and the famous Bobby Sands mural.
Each stop reveals the struggles, hopes, and cultural identity of the people who lived through decades of conflict.
Crossing the Peace Wall, covered in messages of reconciliation, we move into the loyalist Shankill Road. Here, murals, memorials, and stories highlight the experiences and perspectives of this community.

Our tour concludes with a reflection on the Good Friday Agreement and Belfast’s transformation into a modern city.

Whether local or international, our guides share one mission: to help you understand both sides of history and connect with the real Belfast.
