My name is Samir and I am a professor of History and Anthropology at the University of Cienfuegos. The history and culture of my country and my city are my great passion. I am also a simple person who likes to talk and share my knowledge with others. That is why this tour that I propose is a unique experience, which aims to take the visitor on a kind of journey through the 200-year history of the so-called Pearl of the South. It is also an opportunity to learn about the daily life of today's Cuban society, and to live and admire the spirit and identity of a city considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity. I must also tell you that in case I cannot attend the tour for any reason, my substitute will always be Vladimir González. An excellent guide who has a lot of experience and great knowledge, and who also works as a professor at the University of Cienfuegos.

During the tour we will visit the places of greatest historical and cultural interest in Cienfuegos. We will walk along the Paseo del Prado and the Boulevard de San Fernando, where we will come into contact with the daily life of the people of Cienfuegos , and where the main shopping centers are located. Visitors will also enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city and its buildings from the heights of the Hotel La Unión . In the José Martí park , the heart of the historic center of Cienfuegos, they will learn about the founding process of the city , the only one founded by French immigrants in Cuba at the beginning of the 19th century. This is a magical place where we can admire and learn about the patrimonial values and the majesty of the buildings, especially the Government Palace, the Tomas Terry Theater and the Cathedral, jewels of Cienfuegos colonial architecture.
Later, we will visit the "Benny Moré" Cultural Center for the Arts and enjoy different art and photography exhibitions after visiting galleries and personal workshops by local artists. We will finish the tour at the Muelle Real , a place bathed by the waters of the sea, and where the visitor will have the option of enjoying different traditional drinks and we will be able to talk about a topic of common interest.
