Building Peace: Armed Conflict, Drug Trafficking, and Peace Processes
Tour description
What has happened in Colombia over the last seven decades? Where does this history of violence come from, and what lies behind the stories of war, drug trafficking, guerrillas, and peace processes?
This tour is for you. Building Peace is not a conventional tourist visit, but a deep walk through the heart of Bogotá, where we weave questions, memories, and collective reflections. Here we do not narrate the official history: we share the silenced voices, the faces that resisted, and the struggles that remain alive in the present.
During the tour, we visit emblematic places in the historic center such as:
📍 Santander Park
📍 Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Memorial
📍 Seventh Avenue
📍 La Candelaria
📍 Bolívar Square
📍 Núñez Square
📍 And the powerful Fragments, the counter-monument made with the melted weapons of the oldest guerrilla in America.
At each stop, we discuss the armed conflict, drug trafficking, peace processes, and the multiple ways in which communities have resisted violence. We reflect on reparation, truth, and the possibilities of building a real and lasting peace from memory.
Our tour is not just about showing a city: it is an act of love, pedagogy, and resilience. We do it because we believe in the transformative power of memory, because we refuse to forget, and because we want to share with the world another way of walking and understanding Colombia.
🕊️ This tour is also a pedagogical and political commitment that we make from the heart. It is not our main job, but a collective exercise that allows thanks to your contributions, EvocaPaz to develop free educational experiences for Colombians, thus strengthening the processes of peacebuilding in the community.
Therefore, we ask that each reservation be for a minimum group of three people, which allows us to ensure its realization.
