Tour description

Fort & jaswant thada monuments tour of jodhpur because strike monuments in town
Rao Jodha, the chief of the Rathore clan, is credited with the origin of Jodhpur in India.[2]He founded Jodhpur in 1459 as the capital of Marwar (Mandore was the previous capital). He was one of Ranmal's 24 sons and became the fifteenth Rathore ruler. One year after his accession to the throne, Jodha decided to move his capital to the safer location of Jodhpur, as the one thousand years old Mandore fort was no longer considered to provide sufficient security. With the trusted aid of Rao Nara (son of Rao Samra), the Mewar forces were subdued at Mandore. With that, Rao Jodha gave Rao Nara the title of Diwan. With the help of Rao Nara, the foundation of the fort was decided on 12 May 1459[3] by Jodha on a rocky hill 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) to the south of Mandore. This hill was known as Bhakurcheeria, the mountain of birds. According to legend to build the fort he had to displace the hill's sole human occupant, a hermit called Cheeria Nathji, the lord of birds. Cheeria Nathji was a man with the local population as his followers and hence influential in the region. When requested to move he refused categorically. This happened many times. Rao Jodha then took extreme measures and sought help from another more powerful saint, Karni Mata of Deshnoke. At the request of the king, she came and asked Cheeria Nathji to quit immediately.

This was the second tour my husband and I went on with Ravi and we were so thankful we got the opportunity to spend more time with him and meet his tuk tuk driver Deva! This tour was super fun and comfortable because we got driven around by the safest driver in Johdpur! We started off at the fort, and were able to intake all the knowledge of the museum without reading any signs. We never got museum-tired because he made everything so lively! Ravi knew so much about every painting and room that we came away thinking we were historians! After the fort we went to the “mini Taj” and it was beautiful to walk around, Ravi gave us a bit of romance time to walk around after giving us a brief summary. After that, I was pretty hungry so we went for a nice snack, followed by a fun pawn shop. At the end, Deva took us home safe and sound! In summary, this was a very full tour where you’ll get to see the big landmarks of the city and get a lot of the history of the places you’re visiting. Ravi was an excellent guide, throughout this tour other people were trying to listen-in on Ravi’s knowledge and it was great to know we chose an expert! Ravi is such a fun person and he’ll keep you smiling and laughing throughout your time with him, if you want a great time and a great historian any day during your stay in Johdpur, Ravi is the perfect guide!
