Art Tour: History and Local Culture through Art

If it's your first time in Valparaíso, this tour is an excellent way to start getting to know the city. We begin in the middle of the Civic Plaza in front of the white building with the large mural (you'll see it immediately), and then head to a traditional city elevator that will take us to Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción. Here we will explore streets, passages, viewpoints, and corners that help to understand why Valparaíso is one of the most unique cities in Chile.

Throughout the tour, we will discover how the port's history, its architecture, the arrival of immigrants, life on the hills, and various artistic expressions have shaped the local identity. Urban art will be one of our main protagonists, but we will also talk about local culture, music, daily life, and some historical and social processes that help to understand the city beyond what is seen at first glance.

As an artist in training and a resident of Valparaíso, I will share my own perspective on these places, some personal experiences, and part of my creative work. My intention is not only to show you the most well-known spots but to offer you an authentic introduction to the city from a local perspective. We will end at Paseo Yugoslavo, next to the Baburizza Palace, with one of the best views of the port.
