Strasbourg historical free walking tour

Duration: 2h
Languages: English, Spanish, French
Registered on December 08, 2022

Hello! I'm Basilio, the Spanish teacher who tries to keep his students from sleeping in class and, surprisingly, I still have my sanity. My brother, Erick, is the tour guide who has managed to survive five years of curious tourists and perplexing questions. Together, we are on a mission to show visitors the best of Strasbourg, as long as they don't mistake us for living statues along the way. We are passionate about history and culture, and we still haven't discovered who the real culprit is that socks always get lost in the washing machine! We have been living here for more than 13 years and have created a professional project called Goliardos. It is not a sect or anything like that, we just want to share our experiences with the best disposition and joy possible. Because, honestly, life is already serious enough, so we better add a touch of humor to knowledge! Welcome to our world, where laughter and good vibes are the most valuable currency! Our content is historical and intended for a mature audience. Of course, children are welcome (especially at Christmas 🎄 😊) and we love that they accompany us as long as they are under the supervision of their parents and representatives.

Tour description

Hello everyone!
The tour is in the center of Strasbourg, a World Heritage Site.

We will tell historical facts and cultural curiosities of this city that has passed from French and German rule seven times throughout history.

**Our content is historical and intended for a mature audience. Of course, children are welcome (especially at Christmas 🎄 😊) and we love that they accompany us as long as they are under the supervision of their parents and representatives.**

Is the Alsatian language a mixture of French and German?
Who is the real Iron Man?
Is Strasbourg Cathedral the tallest cathedral in the world?
Why is Christmas so beautiful in Strasbourg?
We will try to answer these and many other questions.
We will also find out who invented the printing press, why "La Petite France" is so beautiful, where the Covered Bridges are and what the "Vauban" dam is for.

This is a free tour, so the amount to pay is optional. If you don't know how much to give, some travelers give between "10" and "40" euros.

I look forward to accompanying you and making you take home a memorable souvenir of our city!

Estupendo!

I found the guide lacked experience with big groups and the visit lacked structure. After an hour we stopped at a bakery and he said we could buy something...when we got out him and the rest of the group except another couple was gone, we didn't continue. I have done other tours before and this was by far the tour I liked the less. The tour guide was nice but not up to the usual standard in my opinion

We had a great tour with Erik! The selection of places visited was very good and he was very knowledgeable from history to customs and food and could easily answer all the questions. I liked it that he had showed pictures of the medieval Strasbourg from his folder. I would definitely recommend this tour!
