Free tour, discover the 3 neighborhoods of Tetuan with a local guide
Hello, my name is Mohamed, I am an authorized tourist guide since I have the official guide card and certificates from the Ministry of Tourism. I am a national tour guide, with more than 30 years of experience, I speak four languages fluently and I grew up in the city of Tetuan in the Andalusian neighborhood. It is the oldest neighborhood in Tetuan. My goal is to share with my clients the history and milestones of this beautiful city, classified by UNESCO as world heritage, so that you can live with me a very wonderful experience.
Tour description
Hello, welcome to Tetouan, my name is Mohamed and with me you will discover the true history of the city, the cultures and the religions.
Here in Tetouan Muslims, Christians and Jews coexist and we will have the opportunity to see the three neighborhoods.
We will visit the Barrio Andaluz , the largest neighborhood that exists. It is made up of many old houses of Andalusian families that emigrated and settled in Tetouan, and it comprises the seven gates, including the famous Bab Al Okla Gate , old mosques and narrow alleyways .
We will also visit the old and modern Jewish Quarter, and the difference in the engineering architecture of the houses. In this neighborhood we can see the front of the Royal Palace and in front of it the Spanish Quarter.
The modern Spanish Quarter is famous for its Place Moulay El Mahdi or Plasa Primo , the famous Plaza de Feddan, and Dar al-Dabbagh , also known for being the area where leather is cleaned and used in the local sales of the Andalusian neighborhood.
