I am a life traveler. I have traveled to many parts of the Hispanic world: Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Spain, USA, etc. I love getting to know new places and the people who live there. Now I would like to help travelers and share joys of traveling. I can show you the city of Sendai and its surroundings. If you wish, I will be able to expand places throughout the Tohoku area.
You will have already seen many Shinto and Buddhist temples, or ancient castles since any city in Japan has its beautiful traditional buildings.
In the city of Sendai you can meet others, but you can also visit towns destroyed by the 2011 tsunami , where you can feel the magnitude of the natural disaster.
We will take a tour of a former town called Arahama located on the edge of the sea.
In this area the tsunami devastated the entire town, the only building that withstood the tsunami , where people could take refuge, was the primary school that has been preserved as a memorial to the disaster.
The tour to Arahama takes about two hours, visiting the school, the remains of the town and the beach.
I will be in front of the Sendai Tourist Information Center (2nd floor) of JR Sendai Station with my purple bag.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
