The Story of the 2011 Sendai Tsunami - Free Tour
I am a life traveler. I have traveled to many parts of the Hispanic world: Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Spain, USA, etc. I love getting to know new places and the people who live there. Now I would like to help travelers and share joys of traveling. I can show you the city of Sendai and its surroundings. If you wish, I will be able to expand places throughout the Tohoku area.
Tour description
You will have already known many Shinto and Buddhist temples, or ancient castles since any city in Japan has its beautiful traditional buildings.
In the city of Sendai you can meet others, but you can also visit towns destroyed by the 2011 tsunami , where you can feel the magnitude of the natural disaster.
We will take a tour of a former town called Arahama located at the edge of the sea.
In this area the tsunami devastated the entire town, the only building that withstood the tsunami , where people could take refuge, was the primary school that has been preserved as a memorial of the disaster.
The tour to Arahama takes about two hours, visiting the school, the remains of the town and the beach.
