Free tour Barcelona on the warpath.
I am a Historian from the University of Barcelona and previously I have worked for 20 years in the entertainment sector in the tourism sector in different hotels on the Spanish coast. I have recently completed a Barcelona guide course at the Catalunya Higher School of Tourism which is located in the old town of Barcelona. I am passionate about history and I am passionate about showing it in an entertaining and fun way.
1. Why do a route?
One of the reasons for doing this route is because it has always been a very silenced topic in our history, which has passed a lot on tiptoe in our educational system and can be a good opportunity to learn what our previous generations went through, such as our parents or our grandparents, in a period where many liberties were fought for, but unfortunately many were also lost, until the democratic transition.
This route explains one of the most violent periods in our contemporary history. The itinerary aims to explain the events that happened in the heart of Barcelona in the Spanish Civil War.
2. THE STOPS:
- Barcelona Plaza de Catalunya. Start
- Bombardment Calle de la Canuda.
- San Felipe Neri Square.
- Saint James Square.
- Avinyo street.
- Palace of the Virreina. (A 5-minute break is used in case someone wants to go to the bathroom).
- Mare de déu de Betlem Jesuit Church.
- Catalonian square. Final
3. I want and intend that on this tour you can see the city of Barcelona and this part of history with different eyes. A story in a close, agile way, discovering the historical anecdotes of that period without accumulating excessive data in the head. because yes, you come to discover and learn but above all to have fun.
