Free walking tours in Split

Ivana did a great job introducing us to Diocletian's Palace and adjacent areas of Split. She gave us a good level of history mixed with cultural information. She suggested a great restaurant for lunch and told us the location of the most traditional bakery in Split. I highly recommend this tour to start your day in Split.

Our guide was (is) a high school history teacher, and his tour included many diagrams, photos, and maps of how the Palace of Diocletian looked. Along with the historical dates and names (that most people forget), he had stories of life in the palace, and some background of the Roman Politics and the life of the surrounding people of Dalmatia during that time. A very good way to spend a few hours in Split

Such a knowledgeable and interesting guide- perfect intro to Split - At the end he recapped the walk in front of a large map - really effective in reinforcing what we experienced. One of most interesting walking tour that we have done.

Excelente guía! Muy clara en sus explicaciones, sincera y detallista en cada punto. El recorrido está muy bien armado, es completo y ordenado, lo que permite entender mejor la historia y el contexto de cada lugar. El contenido es muy interesante y se nota el conocimiento y la pasión con la que transmite la información. Sin dudas, una experiencia muy recomendable..

La guía es muy buena, habla muy bien el español y es interesante. El tour es limitado en cuanto a los lugares, no salís del palacio de Dioclesiano y considero que hay otros sitios para aprovechar. De todas maneras Split es una ciudad bastante limitada en general, esta es mi opinión general

Our tour with Ivana was wonderful. She is a very personable young lady and very knowledgeable about the history of S0lit and Croatia. We enjoyed her tour so much we invited her for coffee afterwards!!

As a life long residenct of Split and a professional history teacher, Ivan was able to convey in great detail the rich history of Split while also providing personal anecdotes explaining the more recent but no less complex more recent history. Fue un increible guia, a pesar de ser pocos, Ivan (Un profesor de historia que crecio y vive actualmente en Split) demostro una gran habilidad para captar nuestro interes desde el principio con una hermosa introduccion de la ciudad (Split) con datos historicos y culturales. La ruta fue bastante amigable y nos mostro todo el palacio Diocleciano con detalle, mostrandonos todos los puntos importantes de el, hasta nos dejo entrar gratis a una zona donde habia que pagar ... Estuvo siempre super dispuesto a responder cualquier duda con impecable resolución y abarcando todo lo que debiamos saber, terminamos entendiendo de muy buena manera todos los acontecimientos, arquitectura, historia y cultura de la zona.
