Hello, Travellers! I am Cecilia, a children's book illustrator and writer. I am inviting you to an unusual guided tour in the Buda Castle!
My passion is to walk the streets and sketch the ancient buildings, churches, hidden corners of the Castle. Sketching is a real game changer: it connects you to a place in a different, personal way. Let me show you!
On this tour we will stop at some chosen spots and sketch what we see. We will sketch buildings, statues, people. I will show you simple techniques to start with - no previous skills required - and while you draw, I tell you the story of the place.
We will make friends with colour markers and pencil drawing, basic perspectives, learn some tips and tricks of how to simplify a complex view. In the end you may even paint your own postcard of Budapest! A unique memory forever!
Try it with me!
Our route:
-
Vienna Gate (1st sketching stop - how to start)
- National Archives
-
Mary Magdalene Church (2nd sketching stop - church tower)
-
Houses of Országház utca (3rd sketching stop - narrow alley)
- Holy Trinity Statue
-
Matthias Church (4th sketching stop - Holy Trinity Square)
- Statue of St Stephen
-
Fisherman's Bastion (5th sketching stop - optional - Bastion towers)
Come and see Buda Castle "one drawing at a time".
Looking forward to seeing you on one of my tours!
Cecilia
