Join us, a team of dynamic Zagreb natives, for an unforgettable free walking tour of our beloved city center. We're not just guides; we're storytellers, filmmakers, and politically active locals with a passion for Zagreb's unique history and vibrant present. Our tour kicks off under the iconic Ban Jelačić statue in the main square, setting the stage for an adventure through time and culture.

1. Ban Jelačić Statue on the Main Square We start our journey at the heart of Zagreb, the Ban Jelačić statue, a symbol of Croatian independence and resilience. Learn about the pivotal moments in Croatian history that this square has witnessed and its role as a political and social hub.

3. Zagreb Cathedral and Kaptol Next, we head to the Zagreb Cathedral and Kaptol, the oldest part of the city. We'll delve into its medieval roots and the religious and political power struggles that have defined this area. Plus, hear anecdotes from the communist era and its impact on the cityscape.

4. Dolac Marketplace Feel the pulse of local life at Dolac Marketplace, where vendors have been selling fresh produce for over 80 years. We'll discuss the importance of this market in daily life and its reflection of Croatia’s agricultural traditions and economic changes.

This spot offers a glimpse into Zagreb's medieval defenses and the political tensions of the time. We'll share tales of battles, sieges, and the city’s strategic significance.

6. Tkalčićeva Street (Former Red Light District) Explore the lively Tkalčićeva Street, once Zagreb's red light district. Today, it's a bustling area full of bars and cafes. Discover its transformation and the social and political shifts that turned a notorious area into a beloved nightlife hotspot.

I would like these guides to give me a tour of other cities as well! :D
Jens 10 Jun 2024

Yes, would definitely recommend! The guys have just recently started, but I had the impression they were really pro - check it out. :)

Fantastic tour. It was not my first time in Zagreb and I remembered it a bit boring, but this tour made me reconsider - we felt like we were really having an authentic experience through discussion with locals. The guys did frame "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of the city in a charming way, so Zagreb definitely is a lot more interesting place on the map in my mind from now on.

We booked this last minute and it was great how guys showed up only for the two of us. You can see the boys know their city and are willing to talk about any specific topic that you bring up. We were fascinated by how much connections to austrian history there are in Zagreb, and Jan and Svebor told us so much about it (Svebor lived in Vienna so that probably helps). All in all, a very interesting experience, do try it.

Bravissimo! Beautiful city, very interesting tour, very good guides that told us so much and even recommended us a good restaurant. We are all vegetarians so it was very good to hear about good local vege restaurants. 5 stars!
