I'm Mirko, probably one of the most passionate person about traveling that you will ever meet! I love world cultures, meeting and talking to people from all over the world and I'm very passionate about sports, animals and storytelling. I was born in Venezuela from a Spanish/Italian family and I've been to 69 countries. By the way, can you keep a secret? I'm a travel vlogger and have a Youtube channel. I would love to take you on an exciting walk through the city that I call now, home! Don't miss it! Let's meet and have a fantastic tour together!
Despite being one of the smallest European capital cities, Cardiff can boast of being a unique destination. Stroll through its old town and travel to the Middle Ages to discover Wales' history and its less-known secrets.
Itinerary:
We will meet right outside Cardiff’s Castle main entrance, on Castle Street, one of the symbols of Wales. We will discover the Roman wall, the medieval fortress, and the Clock Tower. Continuing with our exploration, we will visit Bute Park, the green heart of the city. Spoiler alert: sneak some nuts in your pocket and squirrels may come to us! Then we will head to learn about the Arcades. Did you know that Cardiff is known as the “City of Arcades” for having the highest concentration of Victorian, Edwardian and contemporary indoor shopping arcades in the whole UK?
There is more... but you will only get to know the rest of it if you book this experience! See some of the stops in the map bellow.
Why take this guided visit?
Don't let Cardiff small size fool you. There's a lot to see and learn!
Expect tons of anecdotes, storytelling and fun facts. Did you know that only three country flags in the world have dragons on it and that Wales is one of them? Or that Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is the name of a town in Wales? I swear I'm not joking!
How long is the tour?
The tour is 2 hours long from the starting time which is 10 h.
Kindly meet your guide 15 minutes before the starting time.
The tour will finish in the city center.
We will departure punctually! Please don't be late!
I will be waiting for you right outside Cardiff’s Castle main entrance (on Castle Street). Look for a guy wearing a hat with a bunch of flag patches from all over the world! You'll get a free hug if: your country's flag is on my hat.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
