As a passionate young Palestinian woman deeply connected to my homeland, I'm excited to offer you a free educational tour of Bethlehem. Through my tour, you'll gain insights into our culture and history. With photography being one of my hobbies, I'll be delighted to provide you with wonderful pictures capturing the essence of the city's most renowned sites. Let's embark on a journey that goes beyond religious aspects and focuses on deepening your understanding of my culture and country!
The free walking tour begins at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. We'll explore the church's exterior and take photos. Continuing to Aftim Restaurant, famous for its falafel, I'll share insights about the area. You can even try the delicious food. Walking along Al-Mahd Street in the old town, I'll discuss the region's history and current circumstances. Our next stop is the occupation apartheid wall, adorned with drawings. At The Walled Off Hotel, housing Banksy's art, I'll explain its significance. The tour ends conveniently in the city center. The focus is on history and culture, not religion. I'll stay connected and help lost tourists find their way.
No need to worry about getting lost – the tour concludes right next to the hotel. Stay connected with me, and I'll make sure everyone finds their way and leaves with unforgettable memories! 🙌🫶
I will be in the square in front of nativity church in Bethlehem, holding a guru white cardboard (I will provide you with my phone number so we can find each other very fast too!)
We'll kick off the adventure at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, Palestine. This starting point was chosen for its accessibility. I'll offer you an initial view of the church's exterior.
Indulge in the joy of savoring falafel 🥙 while strolling – I'll introduce you to one of the city's cherished and longstanding falafel spots. Following that, we'll discover an authentic tea shop right here in Bethlehem. 🫶
Right next to the apartheid wall stands a uniquely famous hotel boasting an unconventional view and offering just one room! The intriguing backstory behind this setup will be unveiled during the tour. The hotel houses a museum featuring original Banksy drawings, and while entering the museum is entirely up to you, I'll provide an in-depth explanation about the Walled Off Hotel and its purpose from outside.
This is where I'll share insights into the history, culture, and present circumstances as we continue our captivating "walk and talk" tour along this delightful and historical street.
For those interested in picking up souvenirs, I'll guide you to the Banksy shop, where you'll find a variety of items. Notably, they offer the renowned and authentic Palestinian soap, crafted from locally sourced olive oil.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
