Cerro San Cristóbal: view of the city from above
Tour description
This free tour aims to view the city of Santiago from above and from this angle understand how the city has been constituted since its beginnings, and the landscape transformations that have been part of its history. Additionally, we will learn about the importance of Cerro San Cristóbal and its transformation into the largest urban park in Chile and the 4th largest in the world.
This space is ideal for learning more about Chilean flora and fauna and about the cultural manifestations that are celebrated from this point where the Andes mountain range can be seen in all its splendor.
Moreover, it is a suitable space to "leave the city without leaving the city" and walk along trails surrounded by nature.
During the guided tour, we will make the following stops/visits:
- Metropolitan Park of Santiago (entrance via Pionono Avenue, Bellavista-meeting point),
- Funicular
- Summit Plaza
- Virgin of the Assumption Trail (summit)
- House of Spiders
- Summit Casino
- Manuel Foster Observatory
- Tupahue Pool + Tupahue Mural
- Victoria Tower
- Mountain Range Viewpoint
- Gabriela Mistral Plaza
- Mapulemu Garden
- Oasis Station-Cable Car (park access via Pedro de Valdivia)
Considerations/Recommendations:
- Book at least one day in advance
- A minimum of two people is required to conduct the tour. If only one person is registered, it can be done as a private tour at an additional cost.
- On Mondays, neither the funicular nor the cable car operates, so there is the option of ascending on foot or by panoramic bus.
- It is a 2:30-hour walk
- Bring cash in local currency or a card for the funicular ticket payment!
- Bring water for the trip.
- A hat and/or sunscreen is essential
- Confirm attendance via text message, making a reservation alone is not valid
- Come prepared to have fun and walk surrounded by nature!
We meet at the entrance of the metropolitan park, via Pionono Avenue access, Bellavista neighborhood. I'll be waiting for you right at the entrance, next to the park's information point, green-roof kiosk! 🤗😎🙏
