I am Ignacio , Architect – guide (my career is described in my profile) and you can read the reviews of travelers about my tour and we are ready to walk on a “ HIGH QUALITY ” excursion through Amsterdam, in a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere where the idea is to have a good time and grow. We will cover from the 13th to the 21st century, in short, we will visit many places that I have carefully selected for you: the icons of the city, World War II, unique architecture in the world, its canals, Africa enslaved by Holland, convents, origin of the Red Light District, art, science and much more. A very well-considered cultural project, like all those I have developed in the city.

OBJECTIVE : To fully satisfy travelers' cultural and knowledge needs in Amsterdam on a broad-spectrum tour led by a university professional.

∎ ROYAL PALACE OF AMSTERDAM: (17th century)
It represents the golden age, Holland being the center of power of the Low Countries in trade in Europe.

∎ GOLDEN AGE: the explosion of wealth, art, science and colonialist expansion.

∎ DAMRAK : Origin of the city : From the swamp and mud, Amsterdam is born into the world. Its first inhabitants, its successful development.


∎ SECOND WORLD WAR (1940-45): Multi-sculpture made of marble, commemorating the victims. - A contemporary icon. My story will enlighten you about this tragic past and brings us closer to the life of Anne Frank and the deportations.


∎ FIRST BANK of Amsterdam - year 1550


∎ SLAVERY AND COLONIALISM , Africa enslaved by the Dutch is presented to us in Amsterdam, Shocking.

ARCHITECTURE :

• BOAT HOUSES or floating homes. An unusual way of life. Their origin and interesting facts.

• CROOKED HOUSES: architectural explanation, their structure and their oddities

∎ SMALL HOUSE ( 17th century ): approx. 1.60 wide, surprising!!

∎ NIEUWE KERK - 14th century church

• Bicycles : hundreds circulating everywhere, a phenomenon! We'll uncover the reason and their origin.

∎ Amsterdam Stock Exchange by architect Berlage, Amsterdam School style.

∎ AMAZING : We walk through a 16th century alley with crooked, misaligned houses, unique architecture in the world and a 17th century bar that quenched the thirst of neighbors with beer and gin and continues to do so to this day!

The purpose of this excursion is to cultivate ourselves and have a wonderful time , just like when we go for a walk with friends. If we have time and desire, we'll go afterward for a coffee or a beer and a delicious Dutch apple cake (appeltaart ) to recharge our batteries.

• Reservations : There is a limit of 4 people per reservation, split reservations from the same group are not accepted, reservations of 4 participants or more must consider a suggested basic contribution of €15 pp.

• Punctuality : Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of the tour, to depart on time.

• Waiting time : 5 extra minutes. If someone doesn't notify me or doesn't arrive after the extra minutes have passed, I can give up the spot to other tourists.

• Accidents : Each participant is responsible for their own physical integrity on the streets during the tour, as well as for any accident, fall or unforeseen event that affects their health. Therefore, it is suggested to have their health insurance policies valid.

• Do not book or sign up for another activity at least one hour after the tour ends to recharge your batteries and allow time to get to the next activity in a relaxed manner without clashing schedules.

• Check the weather forecast, wear appropriate clothing for cold or heat, sun protection, and an umbrella or raincoat, if the weather warrants it.
