If you are looking for a plan to get to know Ourense, this free tour is ideal. We will take a journey through time to learn how this city of nobles, churches and inclined squares grew throughout history. Are you coming to discover it?
We will meet at the indicated time in As Burgas , the symbol of the city, where you can touch the scorching waters that spring at more than 60ºC from the interior of the Earth. Will you dare?
After explaining the origins of the city, we will delve into the Middle Ages observing two buildings that perfectly explain the history of Ourense: the Pazo Episcopal and the Church of Santa María Nai , both next to the Casa do Concello . In both, the fiercest fights took place between the clergy and the free men of the city.
From there we will head to the Cathedral of San Martiño , known for the Portico of Paradise, one of the best preserved with influences from the Portico of Glory of the Cathedral of Santiago.
Finally, we will get lost in the small streets and squares such as Praza do Ferro , the best place to discover the gastronomy of Ourense, or Eironciño dos Cabaleiros , a meeting place for Galician intellectuals in the last century.
After almost two hours of walking, we will conclude our free tour in Praza Maior .
