Step into the enchanting world of Chiang Mai, where ancient temples whisper tales of the past, and every street corner holds a piece of Lanna heritage. Our Temple Hopper’s Delight walking tour invites you on a captivating journey through the spiritual and cultural heart of Thailand’s northern gem. Starting at the historic Chang Puak Gate (White Elephant Gate), we’ll weave through sacred temples, bustling markets, and hidden alleys, immersing you in the rich traditions of this legendary city.
A Sacred Journey Through Time
Your adventure begins at Wat Saen Muang Ma Luang, a temple steeped in royal history and local devotion. From there, we’ll explore Wat Chiang Mun, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, housing the revered Crystal Buddha and Sila Buddha. Nearby, the Three Kings Monument stands as a tribute to the founding fathers of the Lanna Kingdom—where your guide will share fascinating legends of the city’s origins.
Next, we’ll visit Wat Phan Tao, a hidden gem built entirely of teakwood, before marveling at the towering ruins of Wat Chedi Luang, once home to the Emerald Buddha.
Our journey then leads us to the iconic Tha Phae Gate, the historic eastern entrance to the old city. Finally, we step into the serene compound of Wat Bupparam, a classic Lanna temple known for its exquisite wood carvings and peaceful atmosphere.
A Refreshing Break
To complement our cultural exploration, we’ll pause at a beloved local spot for a refreshing break. You'll have the choice of a rich, aromatic Thai iced coffee or a delicious, freshly blended fruit smoothie, made with the region's abundant tropical produce. This is the perfect way to cool down and experience a daily ritual cherished by locals.
