Hi! I'm Rudy. My father, grandfather, and even great grandfather worked in the harbors of Rotterdam. Some of my family members were shippers, others worked in shipbuilding and factories. I grew up in the small towns around Rotterdam (near the windmills), and lived in Rotterdam, where I studied film at the Art Academy. After that, I worked and lived in Japan for over 15 years, creating photos and videos for the Japanese travel agencies. A few years ago, I moved back to Rotterdam. Now I can see the city through both local and foreign eyes. Doing guided walks is a great way for me to reconnect with my roots, and have meaningful connections with people from all over the world!

Tour description

Street art or food tour? Why choose when you can have both!

We’ll explore Rotterdam’s coolest streets, hunting down massive murals, bizarre statues, and stories you definitely won’t find in a guidebook.

In between art discoveries, we’ll refuel at local food spots for delicious bites from the Netherlands and other countries, that show why Rotterdam is one of Europe’s most diverse cultural cities.

Because this is a free walking tour, you simply pay for whatever you’d like to eat (I'll help you order). Everything is optional. I’m a Rotterdam local who spent nearly 20 years in Asia. So I know what’s authentic, and what’s yum!

This isn’t your typical highlights tour. It’s real, raw, and sometimes a little edgy. You’ll see controversial statues, grassroots social initiatives, and foods that reflect the lives of real Rotterdammers!

Hungry for adventure? Got a curious stomach? Please join to support cultural diversity and small local businesses!

Welcome to Rotterdam!
