Tour description
✨ Ready to discover Lausanne’s highlights & hidden corners, like with a local friend?
Join me on a 2–3h walk where history, culture, urban life & daily stories come alive — tailored to your rhythm and curiosity!
I’m Kilian Mégret, 35, a 17 years local who loves sharing my city’s gems in French (native), English (C1) or German (B2).
As an independent guide and frequent traveler, I know how important it is to connect authentically with a place.
Passionate about history and its impact on today’s world, I also bring my engineer’s eye for Lausanne’s architecture, infrastructure & urban development.
This guided tour is a 2–3h walk through Lausanne’s best spots, and adapted to your pace, schedule & interests.
It can be done in French, English or German.
Small groups (in average 2-5, max 10) ensure a friendly and personal experience.
It all begins at St. François Square, the beating heart of Lausanne.
From there, we dive into medieval and commercial streets, hills and bridges of Lausanne.
We will then walk to the majestic cathedral that also unveils stunning views on the city.
At the top of the hill, we will reach St- Maire Castle and you will learn about the formation of Modern Vaud Canton. Thought small passages, we will pass throught the wonderful Rumine's Palace with its Sciences Museums and collections.
We will then return back to the medieval city to have a look of the old and central Palud square in front of the city hall.
Finally, we will finish at the crossroads of the "new" city center, next to the leasure, commercial and nightlife Flon neighborhood (near our starting point).
Depending on the time, an extension to the historical brasserie of Casino de Montbenon could crown the walk with a drink and a magical panorama over the lake & the Alps.
