We begin our journey below the iconic Bridge of Remembrance, Cashel Street, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8011 - right on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Cashel Street. Look out for your guide holding a purple umbrella ☂️ – that’s where your adventure starts.
This relaxed 1.5 – 1.75-hour walking tour takes you through the heart of Christchurch, with plenty of stops along the way. Together, we’ll explore the city’s fascinating mix of geological and human history, from the stories of Ngāi Tahu Māori to the early English settlers who helped shape Canterbury.
We’ll also reflect on the profound impact of the 2010/2011 earthquakes, sharing stories of devastation but also of resilience and creativity. Alongside the reminders of loss, you’ll see inspiring examples of recovery, innovation, and the ongoing opportunities that continue to transform the city.
