To the banks of the Duero: Free Tour of the Duero River

The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in Spanish

Description

We will meet next to the Monastery of San Juan de Duero, where the poet Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer will be waiting for us, as well as our guide.

On this visit we will fully immerse ourselves in a setting of legends, romance and history, strolling through one of the most beautiful enclaves in the entire city: the walk along the banks of the Duero River.

With our guide, we'll have the opportunity to visit two of the city's most beautiful and unmissable monuments. We'll begin by explaining the history of the Monastery of San Juan de Duero, with its unique cloister, the only one of its kind on the Iberian Peninsula, and finish at the Hermitage of San Saturio, perched on the rock, after passing by the ruins of the Monastery of San Polo.

We will have the opportunity to walk along the lovers' promenade that saw the birth of the verses of Antonio Machado and Gerardo Diego, as well as the legends of Bécquer.

If you're passionate about poetry and nature, and you've also come to learn about the city's history and origins, this tour is perfect for you. Don't miss it!
