Visit the Baptistery and admire its breathtaking Byzantine mosaics that decorate the vaulted ceiling. Outside, discover one of the Renaissance’s greatest masterpieces: Lorenzo Ghiberti’s original Gates of Paradise.
Continue to the Opera del Duomo Museum, where you can admire extraordinary works of art that once belonged to the Cathedral complex, including Michelangelo’s moving Pietà, originally intended for his own tomb. Learn the story behind how the artist damaged the sculpture and left it unfinished late in his life.
Depending on the option selected, you may also climb Giotto’s Bell Tower and/or Brunelleschi’s Dome independently with your reserved entry ticket. Please note that access to the Dome and Bell Tower is self-guided and not part of the audioguided experience.
