Not every great journey needs to be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is a train, a mountain, and the courage to look out the window.
The Bernina Train is one of the world's great railway journeys — a UNESCO World Heritage route that climbs from the Italian valley of Tirano through 55 tunnels and across 196 bridges to reach the glamour of St. Moritz, 1,822 metres above sea level. This is your introduction.
Aboard the Bernina regional train, you'll cross landscapes that change with every kilometre: the sun-drenched vineyards of Valtellina, the dramatic Brusio Circular Viaduct — where the train loops around itself to gain altitude — the vast white silence of the Morteratsch Glacier, and finally the sparkling resort town of St. Moritz, playground of European royalty and global icons.
Your multilingual guide accompanies you throughout, bringing the journey to life with the stories behind every mountain, every tunnel, every breathtaking view. A perfect first encounter with one of the world's most spectacular train routes.
If this is your first time — it won't be your last.
