This tour is unforgettable for several reasons. First, we’ll fall in love with every place we visit. Second, we’ll explore Óbidos, a charming medieval village with walls, cobblestone streets, and ginjinha served in a chocolate cup. Third, we’ll visit two of the country’s most sacred spots: Nazaré and Fátima.
Our journey begins in Óbidos, where you’ll step back in time. With its medieval walls, narrow alleys, and colorful houses, the village feels like a living postcard you’ll want to hold onto forever.
In Nazaré, the sacred meets the sea. Known for its massive waves at Praia do Norte, Nazaré is a favorite among surfers and offers a view of the lighthouse and the dramatic cliffs where these waves form. It’s also a traditional fishing village, where fish dry in the sun and generations have lived by the sea.
Next, we visit Batalha, home to the stunning Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This masterpiece of Portuguese Gothic architecture blends history and art, offering a glimpse into the past.
Finally, we reach Fátima, the heart of Catholic pilgrimage. The Sanctuary, visited by Pope Francis in 2017 for the centenary of the apparitions, is a peaceful, symbolic place that speaks to visitors of all faiths.
