Meet the tour guide at our office located in Piazza della Città Leonina 8, where radios and headphones will be distributed to each customer and where daily tickets for the hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus will be provided. After a brief introduction about the Leonine Walls and the Passetto di Borgo that connects the Apostolic Palace to Castel Sant'Angelo, we will walk towards St. Peter's Square to pass through the security checks to enter St. Peter's Basilica. After these checks and once you have entered the square, you will follow the guide inside the basilica, where the Swiss guards and their role, the five access doors, Michelangelo's Pietà, the tomb of John Paul II, the embalmed bodies of two other popes, Bernini's baldachin, Michelangelo's dome, the four statues of saints on the pillars supporting the dome, the baptismal font, etc., will be explained. At the end of the guided visit, you are free to stay inside the basilica for as long as you like, or you can head to the first convenient stop of the hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus located in front of Castel Sant'Angelo on Lungotevere Tor di Nona. Once on board, you will be greeted by the staff who will validate your ticket, and you can begin your experience of getting to know Rome and its most important monuments, such as Piazza del Popolo, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, Termini Station, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus and the Mouth of Truth. Your ticket allows you to get on and off the bus as you please, bearing in mind that buses run approximately every 15-20 minutes and the service ends around 8 PM.
