Leave New York City behind for an unforgettable full-day journey to Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. Meet at the designated starting point in Manhattan and ride south by bus, with a brief rest stop in Delaware or Maryland to stretch your legs and grab breakfast before continuing.
Your day begins with meaningful landmarks across the river in Arlington. Visit Arlington National Cemetery and pay respects at the Kennedy brothers’ graves, then continue to the Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial). From there, head into the heart of Washington to explore the National Mall—one of the most recognizable sightseeing areas in the U.S.
Enjoy a guided walk through famous locations seen in films and TV, stopping at major memorials including the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Continue along the Reflecting Pool and take in highlights such as the World War II Memorial and the Washington Monument.
Drive through central Washington to see key buildings and viewpoints near the White House area, passing sites such as the Organization of American States, the American Red Cross, the Vice President’s office, and the U.S. Treasury Department. You’ll have time for photos near the White House gardens and surrounding streets.
Midday, take a 90-minute break to have lunch or choose a quick independent visit to a Smithsonian museum, such as the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of the American Indian, or the National Gallery of Art. Then relax on the return trip to New York City. If conditions allow, end with a scenic stop at Weehawken Lookout in New Jersey for skyline views of Manhattan.
